Position Title: Fine Wine Specialist

Position Status: Full Time Hourly + Bonus Program

Reports to: Ma(i)sonry Napa Valley Private Client Leader

Location: Yountville, CA


Ma(i)sonry Napa Valley is a wine collective representing over 20 Napa-centric wineries in our tasting room, located in Yountville, as well as a wine retailer through outbound sales efforts, membership, and ecommerce.

The “right candidate” will have an immediate connection to our Values (People, Service, Quality and Innovation). This candidate will be extremely flexible and enjoy a “startup” mentality and environment that changes day to day and will “assume positive intentions” at all times. They will be personable, open to learning, collaborate well with others, love wine and hospitality sales and have a positive attitude.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Fine Wine Specialist is responsible for executing outbound sales and ecommerce activity for our wine program at Ma(i)sonry Napa Valley. Our existing base of clients is substantial and our client data is highly organized – providing a foundation upon which to continue highly successful outbound sales efforts. The primary goal of the Fine Wine Specialist is to engage with new and existing clients to optimize wine revenues and develop relationships that lead to the ongoing life cycle of purchases.

The right candidate will have a working knowledge of wine, have a developed sales strategies knowledge, and most of all, have the drive, personality, and “know-how” to be a highly successful salesperson. They will be highly sales-driven individual who wishes to share their passion, experience, and wine knowledge with clients by creating ongoing rapport, providing white-glove service, and extending exceptional wine offers from our extensive wine portfolio to their clients on a regular basis to keep their cellars fully stocked. Extra consideration will be given to candidates who have an existing book of loyal clients.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create drip campaign emails for bi weekly wine offerings (such as new releases, library wines, etc.) using content provided by the Private Client Leader to identify clients from our mailing list to build your target clients base.
  • Convert sales and respond to client inquiries from sales campaign emails via phone or email
  • Schedule quarterly wine consultations with clients via phone to curate wines specific to each client
  • Work independently and alongside Private Client Leader to meet and exceed personal and team sales and contact goals
  • Establish and maintain a positive relationship with clients, members and friends of Ma(i)sonry
  • Contribute to the maintenance of client mailing list and optimize the segmentation of the overall client database to most effectively target likely purchasers for sales campaigns
  • Maintain an active and engaged client base through thoughtful and directed ongoing communication
  • Establish and maintain a positive relationship with referral companies and individuals to feed the Ma(i)sonry Napa Valley client pipeline
  • Contribute to team sales training and staff motivation
  • Complete any additional tasks as assigned by the Ma(i)sonry Private Client Leader

ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Computer proficiency: POS software, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Salesforce (or other comparable CRM), email marketing software.
  • 2-5 years of experience in sales/outbound sales and marketing
  • Considerable knowledge of high-end wines – specifically California producers
  • B.A./B.S. degree preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:

This position is full-time. The hours will vary, depending on scheduling needs, but will likely consist of a Mon-Fri or Tues.-Sat schedule. Candidate must be willing to have flexible schedules if needed and be willing to work weekends, evenings and holidays.

You, your spouse, immediate family member, or anyone living in your household must not (i) hold any alcoholic beverage licenses as a wholesaler, distributor, manufacturer, winegrower, rectifier, or importer or (ii) be an employee of, or hold any ownership interest in, any company that holds any of the foregoing licenses.
