Maintenance Manager for Exceptional Packaging Company

Fairfield, CA, United States Full Time

Under the supervision of the Production Manager, position will entail the responsibility for effectively creating a Preventative Maintenance Program for all equipment at Company, executing the program, and working with the team to keep up with all activities associated with the equipment. This newly created role offers an excellent salary and benefits package. All inquiries will be held in confidence.

Management :

Achieve goals and objectives by managing and supporting all maintenance related to the production packaging materials, color matching equipment, and Knurling equipment.

Managing and leading a Maintenance Team.

* Effectively plan, coordinate and implement machine inspection and hands on preventive maintenance e.g. weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly. Maintain detailed record of machine maintenance and action plans e.g. PDCA documentation as required by Company standard.

* Establish a means of communication between each shift to discuss all issues pertaining to each equipment center.

* Responsible for managing the inventory of all spare parts for all equipment centers.

* When necessary, position will also entail the responsibility of providing continuity to the operations team by overseeing the tasks of the Production Manager and/or CI and Project Manager.

* Evaluates and recommends cost savings and improving equipment efficiency. Assist in implementation of quality conformity and outperformance goals. Meet customer service by respecting end of production dates.

* Assist in the planning, coordinating, installation, and successful ramp-up of future equipment that is set to arrive at Company American Canyon.

Training team :

* Assist and train co-workers in all areas of this responsibility to improve productivity.

* Coordinate successful training of communication between shifts.

Subcontractors network :

* Develop and maintain a reliable source of external providers for supply of equipment and spare parts required for service, repair & maintenance. Develop and maintain inventory system of spare parts for equipment maintenance.

* Obtain price quotations and evaluate competitive products for desirability and use in areas of responsibility.

OHSE : in coordination with the OHSE Leader / Production Manager

* Participate in safety, quality and continuous improvement working groups as required by Production Manager. Communicate and drive ideas and a positive culture.

* Lead as a liaison between all departments required to support identified efforts.

* Is the leader in achieving the Company safety (OHSE) targets & objectives. Issues necessary work permits and conducts safety audits on co-worker and contractors. Conducts plant safety audits and in charge of facility maintenance and assists in code compliance. Assist in implementation of 6S, risk assessment, management of change and compliance to Company standards and OHSE management system.

Reporting :

In coordination with Production Manager,

Data entry to measure the productivity and waste results on a daily basis

* To report the anomalies (technical, organization),

* To take part of improvement work groups

Quality : in coordination with the Quality Coordinator and Production Manager

* To ensure quality of the production

* Check the conformity of the capsules regarding the customer specifications and the control plan

* Stop the machine and hold the products in case of non-conformity

oHelp analyzing the claims (internal/external)

Lean :

Continue efforts to help reduce forms of non-value add waste (i.e. downtime, material waste, etc.) at Company site, American Canyon in coordination with CI and Project Manager.

Ability to lead Kaizen Events.

Knowledge :


French (all divisions plant in France and Canada)

Quality and CI

Wine or glass industry / environment

Know-how :

Office computer programs (MS Office)
